Fresh Fruit Salad: A Festive Classic Dessert


6    red apples, your favourite kind, cored and diced
6    pears, Bartlett not very ripe, cored and diced
4    cups (approx. 500 g) sliced strawberries
2    cups (approx 500 ml) fresh orange juice
1    cup (approx 250 ml) fresh lemon juice
1/4  cup fruit-flavoured liquor (optional)
sugar substitute, to taste (optional)
4-5    bananas, sliced

Place all of the fruit (except bananas), juices and liquor (if using) in a large bowl.
Add sugar substitute, if using.
Gently mix.
Cover bowl and refrigerate 4 to 8 hours.
Just before serving, stir in banana slices.
